Calibration Certification and Compliance
The price to service large metal cutting machine is very costly. The cost for non compliance can be devastating. Many of today’s manufacturers have opted to implement a disciplined approach to qualifying and certifying their equipment in order to satisfy internal as well as external traceability requirements such as ISO, QS and ASME B5.54 certification and compliance. Equally important is the monitoring of the machines compliance characteristics over a specific measure of time.
Because of the tolerance requirements of a very competitive and technologically driven market, it is imperative that your machines are operating within optimum geometrical and positioning specifications. Our machine calibration services will assist you with tracking a machines performance and preparing for planned maintenance instead of reacting to sudden non compliance. In a few words, calibrating your machines with precision laser measuring equipment will give you and your customers the comfort that the product you produce and the product they receive was manufactured on equipment that is capable of meeting close tolerance results.
MTSU laser inspection & calibration equipment is calibrated according to the manufacturers recommended intervals. Certificates reflecting the calibration date, as well as results, are kept on file at our plant located in Cincinnati, Ohio. Our company maintains a library of all machine calibration files dedicated to each customer and the equipment that they entrust to our team’s services. Copies of these documents can be provided as requested by our customer. All MTSU owned equipment is traceable to N.I.S.T. and re-calibrated annually.
Our highly skilled calibration technicians will precision level the entire machine tool utilizing our Mahr-Federal electronic levels.
Our calibration technicians will optimize the machine tools geometrical orientation utilizing our Hamar geometry laser system in conjunction with our Renishaw laser system.
The machine's dynamic/interpolation performance is inspected utilizing our Renishaw ball bar. The ball bar tool is the optimum method for inspecting or verifying the machine tools function and dynamic performance during operation. After completing the ball bar inspection the results are plotted out and presented to our customer for their maintenance archives.
The linear positioning and repeatability is compensated and verified utilizing our Renishaw “Gold Standard” state of the art interferometer laser system. A computer generated plot can be supplied in either ASME B5.54 or ISO format. Copies of the plots are provided to our customer for their maintenance archives.
Special rates are applied to contract services where MTSU is selected to perform calibration to a variety of machines on an annual basis.
